To restore nature and create a healthy environment for people, every year the Netherlands encourages children to plant trees nationwide. It is known as the National Festival of Trees or the Nationale Boomfeestdag. The
festival was first established by the National Committee of Tree Planting Day. It is usually implemented and executed through all Dutch schools. The festival is celebrated when weather conditions are suitable. It teaches children valuable morals about the importance of nature and how to treat the environment.
