Stedelijk Museum

If you are interested in modern and contemporary art and design, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam is a must see!  
 
Designed in the 19th Century, the Capital was renovated and expanded and re-opened in 2012. Today it houses over 90,000 art objects Collected since 1874. The Stedelijk collection Represents all the major art movements of the 20th and 21st Century, such as the Bauhaus Amsterdam School, DeStijl, Cobra, Abstract Expressionism, Pop art, Minimal art, and Conceptual art. In Addition, there are key pieces by renowned artists such as Cézanne, Van Gogh, Matisse, Picasso, Warhol, and many others. 
 
If you have children, They are bound to enjoy the Stedelijk’s Family Lab where they can explore their artistic abilities and create their own masterpieces. An additional bonus, if you are under 18, admission to the museum or to participate in other family activities are free! 
 
While exploring the collection, take time to relax and refresh yourself with food and beverages at the Urban Restaurant where you can dine inside or outside, seven days a week, from 8:30 am till midnight


Located at the Museum Square in the Borough of Amsterdam South, The Stedelijk shares the square with two other famous museums, the Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum, as well as the beautiful concert hall, the Royal Concert Hall. There is so much to explore in this area!
